Hiking About three and a half thousand kilometres of marked and well kept hiking trails await you in the Franconian Forest or Frankenwald. Amongst them is a 13-km-long stretch of the famous “Rennsteig”. At the end of the Rennsteig you will find the “Frankenweg”, which was opened in 2004. More than 520 km long, it will lead you up to the Swabian Alp. A 123-km-long stretch leads through the Frankenwald, which has a long tradition of hiking. |

Cycling Cycle along the famous “Wiesentäler” (meadow valleys), which are characteristic for the Franconian Forest, or along the “Koedertalsperre”, the biggest drinking water reservoir in Bavaria – also a paradise for inline skaters! |
Mountain Biking You need to be in good shape to go on a mountain biking tour in this hilly or mountainous landscape, with the 794-m-high Doebraberg Mountain. The 300-km-long cycling trails, the Bike Fun Trails at the Doebraberg Mountain, offer ideal conditions for sporty cyclists, with well-paved roads and little traffic. |
