Highlights of the Lake Ammersee - River Lech Region

Boat trips in Schondorf at Lake Ammersee

Lake Ammersee is the right place for fans of romantic "seafaring". Enjoy the nostalgic feeling of riding on RMS Diessen, a paddle steamer built in 1908 and restored in 2006. An additional paddle steamer called RMS Herrsching was added to the fleet in 2002: a steamer that combines nostalgia with high-tech.

The "Bayerische Seenschifffahrt" offers short and long round trips as well as dancing cruises that need be arranged beforehand. The steamers operate from April to the middle of October.

Piers are in Schondorf, Utting, Diessen, Herrsching and Stegen.

Allgäu Skyline Park Bad Wörishofen

Bavaria's most exciting theme park, located only 40 minutes away from Munich near the exit Bad Wörishofen on the freeway A96 Munich/Lindau. The park offers more than 40 differrent rides including the world's highest inverted ride "Sky Wheel" and "Sky Shot", a 90m high catapult. Classic and romantic rides such as the ferris wheel, swings and a nostalgic merry-go-round are also found in the park. A fantastic white-water ride and a petting zoo were introduced in 2006. Exciting shows and events such as castings, "Everyday Heroes", "Day of the horse", Halloween for children and fishermen festivals in August have been added in 2006.

The prices are good- from admission to the 1 Euro breakfast hit - all rides are inclusive, admission for birthday boys and girls is free, as is parking.

Insider tip for groups: (to be booked extra) Stunt workshop.

Experience an action-packed day at the Skyline Park with the park's stuntmen. Fires, falls, rope downs and staged fights. This and more is demonstrated in spectatcular examples and re-enacted by the group under completely safe conditions. Pure adrenaline!

The recreational area Lechpark Pössinger Au in Landsberg am Lech

This area is located in the south of Landsberg between the River Lech and its steep slope rising up to 50m. The area can be easily reached by a few minutes walk from Landsberg's main square. Due to its location in the vicinity of the town center and its appealing intact nature, this forested area between the town of Landsberg in the north and the district of Pitzling in the south is the most beautiful and significant recreational area for residents and visitors of Landsberg am Lech. Simultaneously, it is the habitat of endangered species (eagle owls) and plants (sallow thorn, orchids) and, being part of the protected landscape of south Lech valley, of national significance for the preservation of nature.
