Maximiliansweg
On a total length of 359 km the Maximiliansweg leads from Lindau am Bodensee along the German Alps to Berchtesgaden on two different routes.
In 1858 King Maximilian II. travelled across the Alps with his entourage. Several writers accompanied them and described the journey in great detail. Today the Maximilianweg follows this ancient route in a scenic setting.
The route
Within a fortnight you can travel from Füssen via Eschenlohe and Lenggries to Bad Wiessee, Fischbachau, Brannenburg, Marquartstein, Ruhpolding, Bad Reichenhall and Berchtesgaden.
