The first Alpine pass that a traveler comes across when heading south is the "Kesselberg". When you reach it you will understand why monks founded one of Upper Bavaria’s oldest monasteries in this area more than 1,250 years ago: Benediktbeuern monastry.
Part of this famous monastery with its two far-visible onion domes is the small town of the same name. To this day it is a favorite vacation destination, and rightly so. Not stress and hustle and bustle but the seasons determine local life. Your vacation here will be dominated by nature. Rural life is still intact which makes Benediktbeuern the perfect place for family farm holidays.
