Welcome to Burkardroth

The community of Burkardroth is located at the south-east slopes of the Rhön Mountains. It is an ideal starting point for hiking trips to the “Schwarze Berge” (black mountains) of the South Rhoen Mountains. (approx. 240 beds).

Places of interest:

• Monastery church with the tombs of Otto von Botenlauben and his wife Beatrix, 13th century in Frauenroth
• Late romanesque „smiling Madonna“ with child in the church „St. Johannes Enthauptung“, 13th century in Lauter
