Welcome to Dillingen on River Danube

Dillingen lies on the northern shore of River Danube in the Donauried floodplains.

The town's origins can be traced back to an alemannic settlement. In the 10th century, the Counts of Dillingen settled down in the area and built a castle that became the town's center. Dillingen was first mentionend in a written document in 973 when it was given to Augsburg monastery.
