Sports and Nature

Varied landscape at the foothills of the Allgäu Alps between meadows, forests and lakes. Naturist bathing lakes (in some cases with hire of boats), tennis court, skittle alley. Network of signposted hiking paths (70 km; in some cases suitable for senior citizens, partially cleared in winter), cycling and mountain tours, 2 cross-country ski tracks with link to the Eastern Allgäu cross-country ski track network. Eastern Allgäu cross-country ski track network. Cable cars, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and royal castles and palaces to visit only a short distance away.

Culture and Tradition

Baroque  pilgrimage church "Maria Hilf" (1664) with rococo altar (1732), chapel with painting associated with miraculous powers (1635) and Wessobrunn stucco. Schloßberg (1055m) with the Eisenberg and Hohenfreyberg castle ruins (superb all-round view into the foothills of the Alps and the Allgäu, Lechtal and Ammergau mountains). Castle museum. Smallest original Allgäu cheese dairy (guided tours possible). Wood carving workshop; cattle drive on every 3rd Saturday in September.
