Euerdorf (with its district Wirmsthal) is located in the Franconian holiday region, where the southern Rhön Mountains and the Franconian Wine Country meet.

The villages are a popular destination amongst hikers and day trippers. In the market town of Euerdorf the visitor can still see some parts of the former defence wall, including the gate to the old Saale Bridge.

The place offers great shopping opportunities. The small wine village of Wirmsthal is located in a narrow tributary valley. It’s only a few minutes’ drive to Bad Kissingen, Bavaria’s state spa no.1, with numerous attractions for its visitors. Hammelburg with its 1,200 years of Franconian wine tradition can be reached quickly.

The hiking trails here in the southern part of the Nature Park Rhoen Mountains are clearly signposted (circular trails and long-distance trails). Cycle touring is also very popular and sign-posted trails, far away from the main streets, lead through the romantic Saale Valley and the densely wooded heights as far as Bad Kissingen, Bad Bocklet, Hammelburg and into the Rhoen Mountains. Why not try and relax in an area with attractive offers and affordable cuisine. Don’t forget that Franconia is one of the lowest-cost holiday areas in Germany.
