Friedberg, the old Bavarian “town of dukes”, is located along Germany’s most popular and best-known holiday route, the Romantic Road. The city offers a broad variety of tourist attractions and free-time activities to its inhabitants and visitors.

Nature and sport

Geo-biological studies path; Lake Friedberg with water skiing facilities and beach volleyball field, study beehive, indoor swimming pool with sauna, tennis, indoor cart track, crazy golf, exercise path, half pipe and mini ramp, fishing.

Culture and tradition

Museum at the Wittelsbach Castle in Friedberg; pilgrimage church "Unseres Herrn Ruhe", town hall (renaissance); city walls. Historic old town festival "Friedberger Zeit", every three years. Revival of the city’s heyday in the 17./18. century. Concerts in the town hall and castle courtyard, cultural programme on demand, accessible look-out tower, Sundays 11am to 5pm.

What the county offers for tourists

Central location for trips to the “Fugger City“ Augsburg and Bavaria’s capital city Munich, guided tours of the city and churches every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from April to October; "Romantic City Tours" every Friday in September. Guided cycling and hiking, network of cycle trails in the county with 11 suggested tours across the “Wittelsbach Country”.
