This day is dedicated to King Ludwig the Second, the "Fairytale King". Visit Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castle. To get to these castles you can even book a romantic drive in a horse-drawn carriage. An overnight stay at the Schlosshotel Lisl offers a fantastic view onto both castles.

Next stop on your route is Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where you can take the cog railway or cable car up into the high alpine world of Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze. After an excellent meal in one of Garmisch-Partenkirchen's cozy restaurants, you can try your luck in the casino.

A drive through magnificent landscape and villages (Walchensee, Kochel, Benediktbeuern, Bad Tölz) and past Sylvensteinspeicher (Sylvenstein Dam) takes you into the Tegernsee Valley. Surrounded by mountain summits, Lake Tegernsee is possibly the loveliest of the Bavarian lakes. A boat trip on the lake or a journey up Mount Wallberg will confirm this impression.

Today you will drive through the Chiemgau Region to Bad Reichenhall. On your way, you should visit Lake Chiemsee, the "Bavarian Sea", and the royal castle on Herrenchiemsee island.

A journey up Mount Predigtstuhl offers a fascinating view onto the Austrian City of Salzburg and the surrounding mountains from Watzmann to Wilder Kaiser. The old saline (Alte Saline) is also worth a visit. Here you can learn all about salt production today and yesterday. A boat trip on Lake Königssee with the famous echo and St.Bartholomä is a lasting experience.
