Hoesbach is located in the western part of the Spessart, 5km from Aschaffenburg, approx. 70 km from Würzburg and approx. 50 km from Frankfurt am Main.

District of Schmerlenbach – A very special sight is the late Baroque pilgrimage church, which was built in 1758/59 by the abbess Engelberta von Rodenhausen. The oldest work of art is a Miraculous Madonna from around 1380, a 30-cm-high pietà.
