Irsee Monastery and its Grounds

The grounds of the former Benedictine monastery are still buzzing with life.

The "Schwäbische Tagungs- und Bildungszentrum Kloster Irsee" (Swabian Conference and Education Centre) – an institution of the district of Swabia – is of special public interest.

But many guests also come to Irsee to visit the surrounding buildings – the monastery’s former commercial buildings. The monastery brewery Irsee with its inn as well as the cabaret stage "Altbau" are popular places to visit in the socalled “monastery quarter”.

The Irsee Monastery Church

The Irsee monastery church is the parish church of the Catholic community “Peter and Paul” in Irsee. It is the hub of the town’s Christian and clerical life. The baroque interior of the church provide an adequate setting for concerts, for example for the evensongs played on the Balthasar Freiwieß organ.
