Welcome to Manching

Markt Manching is the second-largest community in Pfaffenhofen County with over 11.200 inhabitants on an area of 35,5 km².

Manching looks back on 2000 years history which is maily due to the fact that the Danube-South-Road, an important east-south route ran this way even in prehistoric times.

450 BC, the celtic Vindelici, the first inhabitants of Manching known by name, settled along this route which was of economical, political and military importance. Excavations took place at this prehistoric settlement during the last decades and many finds indicate "worldwide" (the world as it was known then) trading business. Manching's past can be retraced in the Roman and Celtic Museum Manching.
