Munich's Surrounding Region

Munich is the perfect, central starting point for trips into its surrounding region. You can reach many of Upper Bavaria's highlights within a one hour journey by car or train.

Nearest to Munich and very popular with the locals are Starnberg - Land of the Five Lakes or the Munich surroundings. You can get to Tölzer Land within an hours time as well. All other Upper Bavarian regions can be discovered in a day - at least in theory,- we would, however, recommend one or two days for those.
