The county of Neustadt on River Aisch - Bad Windsheim is located in the north-western part of the administrative district of Central Franconia. Together with the City of Ansbach and the counties Ansbach and Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen it makes the region 8 of West Central Franconia. In the regional government reform in 1972 the former counties of Neustadt on River Aisch and Uffenheim and about two thirds of the former county of Scheinfeld were merged.

The county has benefited greatly from its location between the urban conglomerations of Nurmberg - Fürth - Erlangen and Würzburg - Schweinfurt as well as the greater city areas of Munich, Stuttgart and Frankfurt. The majority of the county’s communities can be reached by public transport.

The transport connection is particularly advantageous for small to medium-sized sub-contractors and suppliers. In the central towns and villages industry and business have been prospering. This trend has been encouraged by the state, which supports the establishment of industry and business in the area. For example, the communities offer real estates for industry, and the county tries to attract expanding businesses.
