Welcome to Nördlingen

The formerly free imperial city is located along the Romantic Road. The city of Noerdlingen is a historic and beautiful city, and with its Medieval centre most likely unique in the world. The city walls, on top of which you can walk around the city, the church tower “Daniel“, from which every night the warder still shouts “So, G´sell, so“, the Medieval cityscape, valuable works of art and interesting museums will not fail to impress you.

Culture and tradition

Entirely conserved city walls, late Gothic hall church, St. Georg with 90-metres-high tower, which can be climbed, various museums, historic county fairs, folk and tradition festivals, children’s festivals, Rieser Kulturtage (Ries cultural days), long warder tradition on the church and bell tower “Daniel”.

The Tourist-Information Nördlingen (Marktplatz 2, D-86720 Nördlingen in the Geopark Ries, Phone: 0049 9081 84 115) has published a brochure called "Angebote für Gruppen" (Offers for groups). It lists all the city’s important offers. Tours of the Ries and guided tours of the city on demand (during summer season guided tours daily at 2pm, leaving at the Verkehrsamt), bike hire, summer festival.
