At the heart of Bavaria, embedded in the picturesque rolling country of the Hallertau, lies Pfaffenhofen on River Ilm, a town of 22,000 residents. The omnipresent hop gardens characterize its surroundings. Shaped by  rolling hills, this is an ideal place for biking, hiking, and leisurely walks. On top of that, numerous other activities are available: The regional capital of Munich as well as Ingolstadt, Regensburg and Augsburg, are all within easy reach (30-45 minutes car journey).

Yet it is not even necessary to leave the district seat of Pfaffenhofen: There is a modern water park for fun in the summer and the ice skating rim in the winter. There are also many cultural events, markets, festivals, and the harness racing track „Hopfenmeile“ („Hops Mile“). Particularly interesting for overseas guests are the typically Bavarian events, such as the raising of the maypole on the first of May, the fair, or the Coopers’ Dance.
