Pörnbach

Welcome to Pörnbach

Pörnbach is still a largely rural and residential community even though it is conveniently situated at the B 13 and 300 federal roads. 2000 inhabitants live on an area of  22,6 km².

Pörnbach has a history as seat of a Ministeriales family of the house of Wittelsbach. The former castle bears witness to this fact. 1622 the Counts of Toerring bought this castle and later built their brewery.

This community is considered Pfaffenhofen's "center" of asparagus cultivation. It is also a good starting point for cycling and hiking tours into Paar Valley.
