The Rhoen Mountains might be the birthplace of hiking: in 1883 the first German Hiking Day took place in the town of Fulda. The hiking trails of the Nature Park and the Rhoen Club lead you through the diversified landscape of this low mountain range. These trails are very popular with pilgrims, who make their way to the "sacred mountain of the Franconians", the Kreuzberg Mountain (928m) near Bischofsheim. |
