Since May 1st, 2007 the doors of this ancient bavarian village have been wide open for you: The first six buildings of the "Oberland" (upper region) are now ready for you to visit. Not only does this museum preserve priceless cultural assets, it also lets you experience rural life of the 18th century in all its aspects
The crucial difference to most other open-air museums is that almost all of these reconstructed buildings are now put back into operation, and are thus filled with life.
The museum is open between Wednesday and Sunday, always from 9am to 5pm. It is located near the Southern bank of Lake Schliersee. To get here, take the freeway A8 Munich - Salzburg or a train of the Bayerische Oberlandbahn. The museum is right by the station Fischhausen - Neuhaus in Brunnbichl.
