Exter-Kunsthaus in Übersee

A nearly 500 years old farmhouse - converted into a studio house around 1900, today a gallery and  museum. Exhibition of works by Professor Julius Exter and alternating exhibitions of various artists.

Opening Hours: Spring to Fall for exhibitions lasting several weeks each, closed briefly in between, Tuesday to Sunday: 5 pm - 7 pm  (closed on Mondays) or on appointment.

Gallery in the Old Town Hall, Prien

In addition to five large temporary exhibitions of Chiemgau Art each year, this gallery displays paintings, water colors and sculptures supplied by the town of "Prien", particularly Chiemsee paintings dating from the 19th and 20th century.

Only opened during times of the special exhibitions.

Art gallery Julius Exter in the Augustiner - Chorherrenstift on "Herrenchiemsee" Island

This art gallery is part of the museum in the former monastery "Augustiner-Chorherrenstift" on "Herrenchiemsee" Island. In seven baroque-style rooms you will get an overview of the artist's work and his various creative periods; from the mystical-dark themes of his symbolistic phase to his colorful paintings.

Opening hours: April-September 9 am - 6 pm, Oktober 10 am - 4 pm.

Art & Gallery Wichmann in Bernau

An all-year sales exhibition that displays Chiemsee painters of the 19th and 20th century of the "Münchener Schule" and its modern and contemporary art. The gallery also periodically hosts special exhibitions of selected artists.

Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 2 pm - 6 pm, Saturday 9 am - 1 pm, Sundays and Bank Holidays on appointment.

Art-Dealer Gallery Bauhofer in Prien

Here you will find an eclectic, diversified range of contemporary art. Main subjects include the lake "Chiemsee" along with its islands "Frauenchiemsee" and "Herrenchiemsee", as well as the Chiemgau region in the works of wellknown artists such as Walter Rohrbach, Siegmar Jugelt, Günther Frühmesser, Regina Decker-Kern or Ingrid Noichl.
