Gstadt-Gollenshausen is a certified health resort at the north-western shore of Lake Chiemsee; a location that grants one of the best views of the lake, Fraueninsel island, and the Bavarian and Austrian Alps in the background – a scene rather popular with painters and photographers. Along with Prien, Gstadt is the most important landing for cruises to the islands on Lake Chiemsee. Gstadt offers restaurants, beach cafes, taverns, and guesthouses complete with accommodation. Gstadt's quaint, romanesque chapel (9th century) as well as Gollenshausen's parish church with its facade relief are the main local sights. The “House of the Guest“ stages exhibitions (predominantly of paintings) for art enthusiasts.
