Bergwerk Bodenmais (Mine)

Get to know the fascinating underground world of the Bodenmais mine. The 600m-long Barbara gallery leads you deep into the inner core of the Silberberg Mountain until you reach a massive cavity, the “Großer Barbaraverhau”. The atmospheric walk through the old galleries takes you back in mining-history. In a stone gallery with its pollen and allergy free air, respiratory diseases can be treated.

More than 60 different minerals can be found within the Silberberg Mountain. Don’t forget to visit the underground lake and the Silberberg-Museum, which shows the mining history of Bodenmais since 1311.
